At Brighton restaurant Due South, we have always insisted on sourcing food that satisfies our customers while fulfilling a wider ambition: to support local producers and suppliers and showcase the fabulous but often forgotten food that can be grown so well in this country. That's why around 80% of our ingredients are supplied by independent businesses from within a 35 mile radius of our Brighton beach location.

Head Chef, Michael Bremner, is passionately committed to creating sophisticated food with uncompromised integrity, only using seafood that's come from sustainable sources, insisting on wild, organic and free range produce, shunning the modern mantra of year round choice in favour of seasonally availability. As a result, the menu changes monthly and the Due South team remain convinced that food is special precisely because it isn't available 365 days a year.

Since we first opened our doors in autumn 2003, there's been a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for our approach. Just some of the accolades we've been fortunate enough to be given include being named Best Seaside Restaurant in Britain by The Observer Food Monthly, awarded a prestigious AA Rosette and we won the Sussex Sustainable Business Award 2007/2008. The restaurant has also grown to include in-house weddings and civil partnerships, as well as celebrated outside catering events, festivals and banquets.
